Review: Gorilla Kitchen, Auckland
Gorilla Kitchen has established itself as more than just another vegan restaurant, it’s a custodian of tasty food that’s redefining plant-based dining in New Zealand’s largest city. This 100% vegan eatery proves that choosing climate-friendly food doesn’t mean compromising on flavour or experience. What immediately struck me when we visited was their commitment to be entirely plant-based. In a world where animal agriculture contributes significantly to greenhouse gas emissions, restaurants like this represent a more sustainable food future. By eliminating all animal products from their menu, they’ve created a dining space where every choice supports reduced environmental impact. We absolutely loved their burgers and the deep fried mushrooms and the kombucha was a perfect round off. That burger must have been one of the tastiest I have ever had in my life.
For environmentally conscious diners, Gorilla Kitchen represents the growing movement of restaurants that make sustainable eating effortless. You don’t need to research the ingredients, fear that your vegan patty is cooked on the same grill as the animal ones, because everything on the menu aligns with lower-impact dietary choices and vegan living. This restaurant is proof that the hospitality industry can be part of the climate solution while still delivering exceptionally tasty food.
